Marking the 3D models for pre-operative planning

Selecting a 3D component in the menu will open a submenu directly adjacent to it, providing access to various planning tools.

Drawing Tool

Users can manipulate a virtual pencil to draw a virtual line on the surface of the 3D model. A drawing can be made on any 3D model. Follow these steps to use the Drawing tool:

  1. Select the 3D model in the hologram menu

  2. In the submenu, go to More Options

  3. In the Add tab (+), select Drawing

  4. Use the tool

For the 3D model of the Skin, the Drawing tool is accessible via a fast button in the submenu of the Skin.

Removal Tool

Users can manipulate a virtual tool to remove part of the surface of a 3D model. This can be done on any 3D model. Follow these steps to use the Removal tool:​

  1. Select the 3D model in the hologram menu

  2. In the submenu, go to More Options

  3. In the Add tab (+), select Removal

  4. Use the tool

For the 3D model of the Skull, the Removal tool is accessible via a fast button in the submenu of the Skull.

Note: Please note that the drawing and opening tools are best performed at normal speed settings.

Draw and Removal

This video demonstrates how to use the Draw and Removal functions. These tools can be used to draw lines on the surfaces of 3D models and remove parts of 3D models, respectively.

Pointer

Users can add a pointer tool to the hologram to indicate a point of interest in the hologram. Follow these steps to add the Pointer:

  1. Select the Hologram component in the hologram menu

  2. In the submenu, go to More Options

  3. In the Add tab (+), select the Pointer

  4. Grab the Pointer to indicate to a point of interest​​

Line

Users can add a Line to the hologram and set both ends of the line precisely to draw a straight line between 2 points of interest. Follow these steps to add the Line:​

  1. Select the Hologram component in the hologram menu

  2. In the submenu, go to More Options

  3. In the Add tab (+), select the Line

  4. Grab both sides of the Line​

Sphere

Users can add a Sphere to the hologram and use the Shape Edit mode on the Sphere to simulate a structure (a tumor for example). Follow these steps to add the Sphere:​

  1. Select the Hologram component in the hologram menu

  2. In the submenu, go to More Options

  3. In the Add tab (+), select the Sphere

  4. Position the Sphere approximately at the position of the structure you want to simulate

Plane

Users can add a Plane to the hologram. Follow these steps to add the Sphere:​

  1. Select the Hologram component in the hologram menu

  2. In the submenu, go to More Options

  3. In the Add tab (+), select the Plane

  4. Position the Plane
